CAAFD Showcasing Talented Emerging Designers at New York Fashion Week 2018

CAAFD Spotlighted a Series of Talented Emerging Designers at Spring/Summer New York Fashion Week 2018 Collective Showcase

The Council of Aspiring American Fashion Designers (CAAFD), in collaboration with iFashion Network as part of the I’MPOSSIBLE CHALLENGE, presented several showcases during New York Fashion Week, including a collective showcase on September 10th in support of four incredibly talented US based and international designers, Fesvedy, Frances Jerard, Mikelsen and Samantha Leibowitz. These showcases gave these world class designers a stage and a platform to show the world their one-of-a-kind unbridled creativity, and the audience in attendance gave a glowing reception to each. The collective showcase was produced and directed by noted fashion guru and business mogul, Resk ‘Que of iConcept Media Group, continuing his long running series of CAAFD sponsored shows, with hair styled by lead Patrick G. Nadeau and makeup done by key artist Tawni Michelle.

One of the featured designers in the collective showcase, Fesvedy, hails from the country of Georgia. Previous to this showcase, Fesvedy presented at Vancouver Fashion Week. Fesvedy’s designs were full to the brim with character, and featured distinct Georgian flairs. Fesvedy’s color choices were a favorite among the audience, which left many in awe due to their vibrance. Full runway photos visit:

Mikelsen also held a featured spot on the showcase, bringing his ready-to-wear line to the east coast for the first time. The registered nurse turned fashion designer shocked the New York Fashion Week audience with his maverick designs. The words of the evening were “chic” and “elegant” and these designs backed that up fully. Full runway photos visit:

Also on this emerging designers showcase was Frances Jerard from New Zealand making her return to New York. Jerard continued her “dress life to the fullest” campaign with a collection unlike anything the audience had ever seen before. Every piece was feminine through and through, complete with perfect feminine color choices and lace trims. Full runway photos visit:

The fourth designer involved in CAAFD collective showcase was Samantha Leibowitz, who continued her trend of presenting at New York Fashion Week. Her designers were very art-inspired and held a versatility that is rare to see in New York Fashion Week collections. Despite being art-influenced, these designs remained down to Earth, while still exciting. Full runway photos visit:
