Martinique’s Finest

A long tree-line driveway leads you up to Martinique’s finest – Cap Est Lagoon & Spa located on the eastern coast between Francois and Vauclin, just 35 minutes from Lamentin International Airport. Fifty suits are located in a lush tropical garden facing the coral reef barrier of the lagoon of Francois in Cap Est. Once arriving at Cap Est, you are totally drawn to the beauty and modernity of the resort. Betty Cappa, assistant director of the resort explained that the interior decorations of the suites and public areas were all in harmony with the “spirit of travel” that the resort celebrates.


The Cap Est Lagoon Resort is a suite only resort. The suites come in three categories: `Garden or Ocean view,’ `De Luxe’ which has an Ocean view with private pool and `Executive’ suites which also has an ocean view with private pool. The suites are designed as active living spaces decorated in local flare with natural materials. 50 suites are divided into 18 Creole Villas for guests’ enjoyment. Special attention is paid to on authentic textures and cloths like abaca, which decorate the bedrooms. Exotic tropical woods make the louver windows that filter in light and offer spectacular ocean views or the fragrant tropical garden.


Each living space is filtered with air conditioning and a roof fan. The marble bathrooms are fitted with separate toilets, bathtub and shower. All De Luxe and Executive suites have a shower outside in a small private enclosed garden. Two sinks, hair dryer, mirror, scale and telephone are among the amenities. A king sized bed, Sofa and love seat, plus a desk, telephone and ample closet spaces welcome guests to this exclusive resort. There are dressing rooms in all of the executive suites. A 32-inch television with plasma screen, satellite access, DVD, Maxi bar with refrigerator, espresso machine, ice cube machine, safe deposit box, cordless telephone, Internet access and fax machine are all included in the suite.


Dining is a gastronomical delight with elegant restaurants. Cap Est restaurants offer a specialized deluxe menu featuring the best local products. `Le Campeche’ is a wonderful beach restaurant that prepares a large selection of salads, fresh grilled fish and lobster, which comes direct from the lobster tank on location. `Le Belem’ offers a `Grande Table’ Dinner menu. The wine cellar has over 120 varieties of different wines from the main wine regions of France. Le Cohibar’ is a popular liming spot at Cap Est. This bar serves fresh fruit cocktails, an exceptional old rum selection, cigar and wine cellar.


The spa built with fine marble is the most luxurious on the island of Martinique. There are individual massage rooms and steam rooms that feature seaweed and mud therapy, balneotherapy and hydrotherapy. Regular manicure, pedicure and facials are all available and this service is in collaboration with Guerlain Products.


Cap Est also accommodates guests for high sea fishing, excursions to nearby islets and Cays, golfing on a 18-hole golf course at Trois Islet and Helicopter excursions from the hotel’s heli-station. Room service is available for 6:30am to 11pm. Limousine service, a tropical flower shop are among the many specialties at Cap Est. Orders for cases of Martinique Rum in partnership with La Maison Clement Rum Distillery can be arranged for shipment to guests once they return home and a large choice of Guerlain Cosmetics are for sale in the Spa. Concierge and hairdressing service are available upon request.
