Motive was born Paul Brown in Kinston Jamaica in 1983. He grew up with a love for music, especially reggae music, by the likes of Beres Hammond, George Nooks and reggae legend Bob Marley. His singing talents were evident since childhood and young Paul performed in every school concert during his years at Denham Town High School and the Jamaica German Automotive School.
In 2002 Motive started recording and performing professionally and since then has stayed on track, keeping the drive and motivation going. Motive manages to translate his own style and personality into his music to always maintain and insert a touch of who he is into his music to differentiate his songs from the rest.
The young artist’s love for music is evident in his work and his honest expressions convey true emotion and personal experiences to this audience. The music of Motive is always genuine and always remains relevant and relatable to everyone, whether young or old, male or female, even though the artist loves to perform for the ladies.
In 2004 the artist relocated to Nassau, Bahamas. He has become part of a strong and growing local reggae industry and keeps being influenced by Jamaican culture. Motive’s Jamaican heritage is intrinsic to his sound as he keeps the voices of his idols in his mind and heart when recording.
Since 2011 Motive has released singles like “Make Me Rise,” “Leave Him,” “Badmind,” “Crime Solution,” ‘Guilty” and most recently “Who Will it Be.” His latest release will be accompanied by a music video shot on location in Nassau. Currently, Motive is busy in the studio working on his long awaited debut album entitled “Motivated.”
Motive is ready and poised for an international career. Endorsed by popular reggae artist Warrior King, who told him “you have the talent I can see it and that talent must shine,” Motive is taking his career to the next level in 2013.
