On December 5, 2012, the South Bronx Overall Economic Development Corporation, (SoBRO), will celebrate its 40th year anniversary gala at themGrand Hyatt Hotel in New York City.
This year’s honorees are legendary Tuskegee Airman, Dr. Roscoe C. Brown, Jr., President & CEO of Eagle Academy Foundation, David C. Banks, 60 Minutes Correspondent, Bob Simon, and Pat Simone, Founder of Simone Development Companies. Our Corporate Sponsor is Citi, a founding bank with SoBRO. The always entertaining Bill Evans, ABC Eyewitness News Meteorologist will be the Master of Ceremonies.
For the past 40 years, SoBRO has provided innovative economic, housing, educational and career development programs for youth and adults, strengthened community-based businesses, and broadened the horizons of our community. The Gala presents a festive atmosphere, attended by hundreds from the world of economic development, communications, business, entertainment, sports, politics, and civic organizations. Aptly, this year’s theme is, SoBRO – Pillars of the Bronx: Forty Years of Building Communities and Empowering People.
